City of Batavia issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
This is Fire Prevention Week. Every year the Batavia Fire Department along with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) work to teach fire safety behaviors to the community. This year’s theme is “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere™.”
:Keep cooking areas clear of clutter, keep anything that can burn well away from heat sources, and make sure electrical outlets aren’t overloaded
