City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on July 10.
While Supplies Last
Stop in to the City’s Utility Billing office in the Municipal Building and walk out with a free LED light bulb. St. Charles’ wholesale power supplier, the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency, has given us MaxLite 9W LED light bulbs for our residents.
According to MaxLite, these LED bulbs will last an estimated 15,000 hours—significantly longer than the 1,000 hours of a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. And since they use less energy (9W vs. 60W) they also save on energy costs. The estimated annual energy cost is $1.08, compared to $4.80 for a traditional bulb.
One to a resident please. Proof of residency required. While supplies last.
