North Aurora Station #1 responded to 252 calls in 2017 - 44.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in North Aurora #1 included 22 fires - eight structure fires, four vehicle fires and 10 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $102,750 in fire loss - or about $4,670 per fire.

The department also received 227 false calls, including nine malicious calls and 218 other false calls.
