Analysis: South Elgin pays $2.95 for every $1 pensioners contribute to South Elgin Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.9 percent of the $1,086,807 the South Elgin Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.95 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, South Elgin contributed $814,000 to the fund, which saw a $21,482 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $275,179, or 25.3 percent, in 2016.
