Analysis: Aurora pays $4.91 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Aurora Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.1 percent of the $11,808,039 the Aurora Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.91 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Aurora contributed $9,811,122 to the fund, which saw a $187,830 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,996,917, or 16.9 percent, in 2016.
