The price of local government: Village of East Dundee

The Village of East Dundee budget was $28.02 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $30,292.59 per household.

That's an increase of 15.6 percent from 2014, when the village spent $24.23 million, or $26,197.33 per household.

East Dundee has 925 households and a population of 2,860.

Since 2001, the Village of East Dundee budget has grown by 149.9 percent, from $11.21 million. The village population has fallen 10.6 percent over the same period, from 3,200.

Salaries accounted for 9.8 percent of village spending in 2015. East Dundee property taxpayers paid $2.75 million for 32 full-time employees and eight part-time employees.
