Fodor's Travel named Geneva one of the 25 most underrated Midwestern towns to visit this fall.
“Tucked into Kane County and along the Metra commuter rail line from Chicago, Geneva hosts 150 shops in its historic downtown alone, so visitors can drop by All Chocolate Kitchen for Chef Alain Roby's sweet treats,” Fodor’s Travel review said. "Experience a farmers' market with a French twist each Sunday May through November in the Metra station's parking lot, and for art and nature in one visit, check out the Fabyan Forest Preserve (with a Japanese-style garden) and Fabyan Villa Museum.”
Three other Illinois communities also made the coveted list, including Galena, Lake Forest and Woodstock.
The travel industry has trusted reviews from Fodor’s Travel for more than 80 years. The guide’s more than 764,000 Twitter followers and roughly 77,500 Facebook fans received the underrated Midwestern towns list from the Fodor's on social media.
