? Other Highlights

A Peek at Technical Services: One of the more time-consuming yet cost-effective tasks in

Technical Services is that of repairing storage cases (and related accessories) for audio-visual

items and mending books. During the previous fiscal year, a total of 8,164 items were repaired.

Print from Anywhere: One of the Library’s great (but lesser-known) special services is Print

from Anywhere, or wireless, Internet printing. Patrons can print from wireless devices in the

Library or even over the Internet from their home computers and devices.

During the last one-third of the fiscal year (March–June 2016), 83 users printed 980 pages using

this special service. Director Scheetz reported that the Library hopes to increase these reasonably

good numbers by promoting this service more frequently.

In response to a question from Trustee Sullivan, Peterson explained in more detail how Print from

Anywhere works.

Joanne C. Zillman presented highlights from her written report and, in particular, reported on

Summer Reading Club 2016.

Born Survivors, the One Book, One Batavia selection for 2017.

In addition, she reported that Batavia Unified School District 101 discontinued its joint
