Central Community Unit School District 301 recently shared updates on its social media, highlighting the conclusion of the football season, introducing a new staff member, and recognizing American Education Week.

On November 15, the district posted: "FINAL: It was a great season to be a Rocket! See you next August at Rocket Hill! #WeAreCentral #IHSA https://t.co/doG6Ac9J2V".

Two days later, on November 17, Central 301 introduced a new educator with the post: " Meet Carrie Emerick! She loves helping students make sense of math & feel confident in their skills. Outside the classroom, you’ll find her cheering on Chicago’s finest teams or dreaming of her next cruise in the Bahamas. Welcome to Central 301! #WeAreCentral https://t.co/GT2WClvav2".

Later that day, the district acknowledged its school community during American Education Week by stating: " American Education Week reminds us of the power of a strong school community. To our teachers, staff, families, and students: Thank you for working together to make Central 301 a place where every student can thrive. We appreciate you today and every day! #WeAreCentral https://t.co/KtL1mKeMHH".

Central Community Unit School District 301 serves Kane and DeKalb counties and includes several schools such as Central High School and Prairie Knolls Middle School. According to data from the Illinois State Board of Education, there are 280 teachers in the district with an average salary of $58,199 before pension contributions; most are women and none have more than ten absences per year. The student body is predominantly White (65.3 percent), with Hispanic (16.5 percent), Asian (12.2 percent), and Black (2.1 percent) populations also represented.
