A contractor hired by the City of Geneva will begin inspecting 2,138 wooden utility poles starting Tuesday, November 11. The inspections are scheduled to take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Osmose crews will carry out sound and boring tests on each pole and check for communication attachments. According to the city, these inspections will not cause any disruption to electric service.

The inspection project is anticipated to last four to five weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Crew members will be identifiable by reflective vests with the company logo and marked company trucks.

Residents seeking more information can contact the Geneva Public Works Department Electric Division at 630-232-1503.
