State Senators Don DeWitte and Craig Wilcox are organizing a Senior Expo in Crystal Lake on October 14. The event will bring together nearly 50 agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations that focus on services for seniors. Admission to the expo is free, and refreshments will be provided.

The expo will take place from 10:00 AM to noon at the Grand Oaks Building of the Crystal Lake Park District, located at 1401 W. IL Route 176.

Senator Wilcox said, “We are bringing together close to 50 agencies and organizations that specialize in the needs of seniors, and attendees will be able to collect useful information and learn about available resources while visiting the booths. We will also be offering a variety of free services, so I would encourage all seniors and their families or caregivers to stop by this event.”

Attendees can access several complimentary services at the expo, including blood pressure checks, vaccinations provided by Walgreens, an opportunity to exchange plastic IPASS transponders for new sticker technology, searches for unclaimed cash or property through ICASH, senior living information, transportation options, veteran services, and energy information.

“This senior expo provides an easy way to connect the senior community with essential services and information,” Senator DeWitte added. “Best of all, it’s all under one roof. We are hoping for another huge turnout at this year’s expo.”

DeWitte has served as a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate since his election in 2018. He represents the state’s 33rd Senate District after succeeding Karen McConnaughay.
