The Montgomery Beautification Committee has opened registration for its annual Halloween Display Contest, inviting residents to nominate homes and businesses with notable Halloween decorations. According to Ben Brzoska, Village Trustee and chair of the Beautification Committee, "It is one of our favorite contests to judge, as the residents raise the bar every year."

Nominations can be submitted online at montgomeryil.org until October 19, 2025. Residents may nominate their own property or someone else's by providing the property address. The committee will review all nominated addresses on the evening of October 22. Participants are asked to ensure their displays are lit by 5 p.m. that night for judging.

Winners will be recognized with award signs, which should remain posted through Halloween on October 31. After judging concludes, a list of awarded home addresses will be published online so community members can visit and view the decorated properties.

Brzoska commented on the contest's impact: "From the large skeletons to the tasteful fall florals and pumpkins, it aids the community spirit, and we love recognizing residents who do their part in making Montgomery a great and fun place to live."

Nominations are accepted through Sunday, October 19 via the Village website or by emailing rmason@montgomeryil.org.
