Montgomery, IL – The Montgomery Public Works Department has announced an emergency bulk brush collection for residents following severe weather that resulted in several downed trees across the Village. This service will begin on Tuesday, July 29, at 7:00 AM.
Crews will make a single pass through each neighborhood starting Tuesday morning and continue until every area has been covered once. Residents are advised to have all brush stacked neatly in the parkway by Tuesday morning as the collection starts promptly at 7:00 AM.
The Village has provided guidelines for this special pick-up. Brush must be placed in the parkway by the evening before collection. Any brush put out late will not be collected, and it is the homeowner's responsibility to dispose of it if it is not accessible during the pass-through. Brush should be piled neatly in one direction with larger trunk portions or cut ends facing the street. Piles should not exceed three feet in height or obstruct sidewalks and driveways.
Twigs, leaves, and small yard debris should be placed in yard waste bags for removal by the regular garbage hauling provider on designated collection days.
This emergency storm pick-up aims to remove fallen trees, branches, and limbs due to recent severe weather.
Residents with questions about this special collection or the Village's Bulk Brush Program can contact the Public Works Department at 630-896-9241 or visit https://www.montgomeryil.org/167/Brush-Pick-up for more information.
