The Illinois House has approved its parliamentary rules for the 104th General Assembly. The decision, made on Tuesday, saw all Republican members voting against the adoption. These rules closely resemble those previously implemented by former House Speaker Michael Madigan. Madigan is currently facing charges of racketeering, bribery, and corruption.

According to a statement from the Caucus Blog of the Illinois House Republicans, "Madigan’s House Rules renewed for two more years." The rules have been criticized for limiting the influence of over 4 million Illinois residents represented by Republicans across the state.
