The Illinois Flag Commission has initiated the public voting phase for the redesign of the Illinois state flag. This follows a review of over 4,800 submissions. The voting period is open until February 14.

Once this period concludes, the votes will be tallied and forwarded to the Illinois General Assembly. The public's participation is crucial as it will influence the Assembly's final decision regarding the state's flag later in the year.

It is noteworthy that among the final ten designs under consideration is the current state flag itself. Citizens are encouraged to participate by casting their vote online.
