FOIA Request to City of Aurora Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Kane County Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Aurora. The request, sent on October 30, 2024, seeks detailed information about residential and commercial building permits issued in the city from January 1, 2023, till the present date.

The requested records include a list of all new residential and commercial building permits issued within this timeframe. Specifically, we are seeking details such as the type of permit issued, the date it was granted, the fee paid for it, who requested it, the address where work is permitted to occur, and the name of the contractor involved.

In addition to this, we have also asked for a list of all currently active residential and commercial building permits and their status. The same fields mentioned above are requested for these active permits.
