Kane County State's Attorney candidate: 'Congratulations to Kane County State's Attorney Mosser'

Kane County State's Attorney candidate Andrew Sosnowski extended his congratulations to Jamie Mosser in a Facebook post dated November 5, stating, "I wish her the very best of luck during her second term."

"Congratulations to Kane County State's Attorney Mosser," said Sosnowski, according to Facebook. "I wish her the very best of luck during her second term."

According to Kane County’s election results, Sosnowski garnered 99,081 votes, representing 46.73% of the total. Incumbent county state’s attorney Jamie Mosser received 112,962 votes, or 53.27%, with all precincts reporting. These unofficial results were released by Kane County for the November 5 general election as of 11:42 p.m. on that day. Voter turnout was recorded at 72.76%, with 221,350 ballots cast out of 304,232 registered voters.

Democrat Jamie Mosser is currently serving as the incumbent state's attorney. She has passed both the Illinois and Louisiana state Bar exams and served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office from 2002 to 2005. After relocating to Illinois, she became a prosecutor for the State’s Attorney’s office and worked across various divisions within the office. In 2015, she transitioned into private practice by opening Klein & Mosser LLC and later joined Prairie State Legal Services in 2017. By 2019, she had opened Mosser & Eisenmenger Law, LLC but closed her practice upon being elected Kane County State’s Attorney in 2020.

Andrew Sosnowski is a native of Illinois with over three decades of legal experience. His career includes time as a prosecutor in Kane and McHenry counties during the 1990s where he "tried felony cases and earned a reputation as a tough but fair prosecutor," according to his campaign website. He was appointed Chief of Kane County’s Family Justice Division focusing on domestic violence and child abuse among other issues. Sosnowski also held temporary prosecutorial appointments in Jo Daviess County as chief prosecutor and served as chief of staff in Ogle County. Additionally, he has six years of experience operating his own law firm.
