State Senators Craig Wilcox and Don DeWitte are organizing a Senior Resource Fair in Crystal Lake on October 15. The event will bring together various agencies focused on senior needs.

"This annual event has been incredibly popular because seniors are able to visit with representatives from a variety of agencies that can help them navigate issues that affect their lives," said Wilcox. "In addition to receiving information from vendors, seniors will have an opportunity to get flu shots and blood pressure checks and visit an ICASH Unclaimed Property desk to see if cash or property is waiting to be claimed. Best of all, everything is free."

The fair will take place at the Crystal Lake Park District’s Grand Oaks Building from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

"I am encouraging all seniors who live in and around Crystal Lake to attend this fair so they can take advantage of all of the resources that are being offered free of charge," said DeWitte. "This is one of our most well-attended events, and in addition to seniors, the information available is also valuable for caregivers and family members. I’m hoping for a large turnout."

Participating organizations include Aetna, Algonquin Township, Ardenrose, Assure Home Assist, Bose Home Health, Cycling Without Age- McHenry County, Honor Flight, Venturi & Associates, IL Attorney General’s Office among others.

For more details about the event, contact Senator Wilcox's office at (815) 455-6330 or Senator DeWitte's office at (847) 214-8245.
