In a recent Facebook post, Illinois state Rep. Martin McLaughlin (R-Barrington Hills) blasted the Pritzker administration, calling it dysfunctional.
"Dysfunction at state agencies under the Pritzker administration has caused Illinois residents unnecessary hardship," he said in the post.
In addition, McLaughlin called out the governor for allowing the dysfunction to persist throughout state government and never taking responsibility to make things right.
Some Illinois residents who received unemployment have run into trouble getting their hands on the state 1099-G forms they need to file taxes.
Unemployment claimants cannot file their taxes without the 1099-G form, and some insist they have experienced trouble getting the forms for three years now, with reports that the problem lies with the Illinois Department of Employment Security; a recent CBS News Chicago report said. People have reached out to the news agency since they cannot seem to get the form from the state.
"We can give Illinoisans an efficient, transparent state government that works for them by actually addressing the issues at our state agencies rather than making excuses," McLaughlin said in his post.
