Patricia Arroyo submitted her petitions to run for the elected position of Elgin Community College Trustee.
Cody Holt filed a petition objection to Patricia Arroyo’s candidacy for Elgin Community College Trustee.
The Education Officers Electoral Board heard the arguments and voted to leave Arroyo on the ballot for trustee.
Holt appealed for judicial review to the Kane County Circuit Court, case number 23-MR-25.
The basis of the Objection is that Arroyo is not a registered voter within the community college district and is therefore unqualified for the elected position of community college trustee.
A status hearing is scheduled for February 1, 2023, to set dates for filings and the actual hearing on the merits.
