Spartan hockey programs remain in Top 15

The Aurora University men's and women's hockey programs continued to be ranked among the tops of NCAA Division III when the USCHO released the latest (November 21) poll.

The Spartan women (6-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the NCHA), led by the leading scorer in all of women's college hockey Darci Matson, moved up two spots to No. 12 after a 1-0-1 weekend at Lake Forest College. AU won 3-0 and tied 2-2 in the series finale but won in the shootout 2-1. Matson has 21 points in eight games with 12 goals and nine assists.

The AU men (6-1-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the NCHA) are also ranked No. 12 after a pair of ties in a home and home series with Lake Forest College.  Jack Jaunich leads three Spartans in double-digit scoring with 13 points on six goals and seven assists.

Next action for the AU hockey teams comes on Tuesday, November 22 for the women when they host Trine University with a 7:35 p.m. puck drop at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois. The AU men are in action next on Friday, November 25 when they travel to the Firstlight Shootout and take on Norwich University. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 pm (est) / 6:00 pm (cst)  in Northfield, Vermont.
