Everyone has really been paying attention to what is coming out in the Safe-T Act this coming election. Unfortunately, our current Senator Villa is even being flagged online for giving false information. She has held press conferences in front of DuPage County jail bashing Kane and DuPage judges and police for doing their jobs and getting criminals off our streets. The came just days after she Co-Sponsored HB3447 that passed right to the State. This legalizes 3 grams of Fentanyl to a misdemeanor. If you do not know what 3 grams of Fentanyl looks like, it is equivalent to 3 sugar packets. Three grams can potentially kill 1,500 people! It only takes 3 small grains of it to have someone overdose. She oversees our Mental Awareness Committee in Springfield, yet she is not protecting our youth or our people in need.

How many people know someone that has overdosed or knows a family that has suffered a loss? In speaking with our police officers, Fentanyl is coming in forms of colorful candy for our youth. Unknowingly, kids are purchasing marijuana off the street not knowing that it is laced with fentanyl. Again, they will not even be able to see 3 small grains inside the marijuana.  Anyone with addiction that needs help, our DuPage County Sherriff Mendrick has done a terrific job in helping people get off drugs, he has a waiting list for people for gang tattoo removals, he helps inmates finish their GED’s or even finish higher education programs, getting certified as welders or other high paying jobs. Mendrick has worked with several companies that will hire them after release. Some inmates request to stay in so they may finish their certification so they can provide for their families. Our first responders, Sheriffs, and judges have done so much in keeping us safe as well as helping people get clean of their addictions.

It is a shame to hold a press conference in front of the people that keep our communities safe. Bond is set for a reason, to keep all of us safe including our children or those with domestic threats against them. You all have seen the truth out there on the Safe-T Act. Even Facebook will no longer put up with the lies politicians attempt to downplay within the new laws as “False vs. Truth”. They are finally stating the truth for once. Her statements on the Safe-T Act are indeed “False Information”.

We need to keep our communities safe and the way they decided to wait to put the Safe-T act into place after the election should be enough proof. Political corruption, hiding the truth from the voters. I am a mother of two children, and I am running to protect them, your children, your families and to help our first responders to do their jobs in keeping the remainder of our State of Illinois Safe.
