City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
Our neighbors in Batavia organized this meaningful event to recognize all the difficulties we faced in 2020 and to look forward to better days ahead in the new year. The City of St. Charles is joining in the “Longest Night” initiative, and on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. we will ring the bells and change the lights of the Municipal Tower. Everyone is invited to step outside to ring a bell, sound a horn, shine a light and be a part of the remembrance and hope. Please help spread the word.
