Burlington FPD responds to 22 fires in 2018

Burlington Fire Protection Department responded to 53 calls in 2018 - 3.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Burlington included 22 fires - 10 structure fires, one vehicle fire and 11 other fires.

The department also received 31 false calls.

The Burlington Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $655,616 in 2018.

The Burlington Community FPD Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has two active employees and retired or inactive employee, was $6,885 positive as of May 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $299 for every fire in 2017.
