6. Monthly Financials (J. Onzick)
Monthly financial reports were included in the agenda packet. Referencing a PowerPoint presentation, Finance Exec. Dir. Onzick discussed highlights of the report. The preliminary audit has been scheduled for next week, (Hoscheit arrived @ 9:03 a.m.) all revenues that were collected at the end of FY19 will be reconciled and balanced. Onzick reported the bids sent out for the multi-facility construction project are due January 16, 2020. (Allan arrived @ 9:04) Once final cost has been finalized, staff will proceed with approving the ordinances that are required for issuing the bonds. At the soonest, proceeds would be available at the end of April. Onzick reported the Government Finance Officers Association has notified this week Kane County that we have earned the certificate of excellence in financial reporting for the 2018 CAFR. This is the 22nd year that Kane County has won the award.
7. Monthly Community Outreach Report (R. Nagel)
Referencing a presentation, Community Outreach Coordinator Nagel shared Kane County Connects (KCC) readership statistics noting they continue to rise. Page views were just shy of another milestone reaching the 5M marker. He reviewed the top ten most read stories of 2019. Nagel discussed the importance of impact, education, and economic development throughout the County. One of the special stories for 2019 was the moving Vietnam Memorial "Wall that Heals" that traveled through Kane County. Nagel discussed the importance of page views. The consistency gains trust, which in turn impacts public awareness.
