The data shows that nine men and two women were released in Elgin zip code. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 52-year-old woman convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Benny Deanda. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2014, when he was 29 years old. He is now 35.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
