Q2 2019 Recap: Parolees in Kane County convicted of crimes against justice

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Kane County during the second quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 48. The younger parolee was a 31-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Cesar Mercado. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 29 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against justice were paroled during the second quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
