4. Recycling/Solid Waste (J. Jarland)

A. Presentation: Recycling Programs Annual Report

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation included in the agenda packet, staff Jarland provided an overview of the recycling programs. Jarland presented data on the 2018 curbside collection, recycling events, drop-off locations, and household hazardous waste disposal. Jarland explained the recycling ordinance. Brief discussion occurred. (Hernandez arrived @ 9:08 a.m.)

B. Presentation: Recycling Event Announcements

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation included in the agenda packet, staff Jarland promoted a Recycling Event on May 11, 2019, a Household Hazardous Waste Event on June 1, 2019 and the remaining 2019 events.

5. Sustainability (J. Mino)

A. Presentation: NPDES MS4 Annual Report

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation included in the agenda packet, staff Mino outlined the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and the Municipal Storm Sewer (MS4) Permit. Mino explained the programs help regulate storm water to ensure its cleanliness as it flows into rivers and streams. Mino noted the Annual Report is available online. Discussion occurred.

B. Presentation: Rain Barrel Sale and Events

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation included in the agenda packet, staff Mino promoted the Rain Barrel sale on May 23, 2019 and the "When it Rains" event on May 17, 2019.

C. Discussion: Event Announcements

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation included in the agenda packet, staff Mino promoted the "Love Our River Days" events on May 11, 2019 and May 18, 2019 and the Waste Reduction Forum on May 23, 2019.
