South Elgin home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in South Elgin rose by $28,500 while total sales decreased by 22.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 92 homes sold, with a median sale price of $268,500 - a 11.9% increase over the $240,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 119 homes sold in South Elgin in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in South Elgin for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $6,030.90, approximately 2.2% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
