South Elgin home prices fall in the first quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2018 in South Elgin fell by $8,475 while total sales decreased by 31.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2018, there were 37 homes sold, with a median sale price of $200,000 - a 4.1% decrease over the $208,475 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 54 homes sold in South Elgin in the first quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in South Elgin for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $6,030.90, approximately 3% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2018.
