The campaign committee of member candidate Tara Jacobsen, Citizens For Tara Jacobsen, returned a $500 contribution from Byron & Mary McDonald on Jan. 23, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. McDonald has not made any other contributions to Tara Jacobsen in the past 12 months.
