CITY OF AURORA: Is Under a Winter Weather Advisory

Snowremove

City of Aurora issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.

Issued by the National Weather Service until 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 13. Snow is expected to fall throughout the day with expected accumulations of up to 3 inches.

The full Aurora Snow Team was deployed this morning to salt the roadways. The team will salt MAIN ROADWAYS of all 36 snow routes to maintain driveability. As the snow accumulates, plowing will begin – first on main roadways and THEN into residential areas. The crew will maintain rotations throughout the duration of the storm.

As always, we are asking our residents to:

• PLEASE BE PATIENT with the process

• REDUCE SPEED and pay special attention on bridges, overpasses and intersections where slick spots may form.

• BE CAREFUL when interacting with snow plows by staying a minimum of 75 feet behind them and never attempt to pass them.

• REFRAIN FROM PARKING on City streets and alleys
