CITY OF ST. CHARLES: Plan Commission-1-8-2019-General Amendment

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Plan Commission of the City of St. Charles, Illinois on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 2 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois. The purpose of this public hearing is to hear testimony and make a recommendation to the City Council concerning proposed amendments to Title 17 entitled "Zoning" of the St. Charles Municipal Code (the Zoning Ordinance), described as follows:

A petition filed by the City of St. Charles requesting amendments to Chapter 17.26 “Landscaping and Screening”, Chapter 17.14 “Business and Mixed Use Districts”, and Appendix C “Plant Palette”, regarding modifications to site landscaping requirements.

A petition filed by the City of St. Charles requesting amendments to Chapter 17.30 “Definitions”, Section 17.30.020 regarding Pet Care Facilities and Section 17.30.030 regarding Pergola and Arbor/Trellis; and Chapter 17.28 “Signs”, Section 17.28.060 “Illumination” regarding limitations on neon and series lighting and awning lighting.

A petition filed by the City of St. Charles requesting amendments to Chapter 17.12 “Residential Districts”, Ch. 17.14 “Business and Mixed Use Districts”, Chapter 17.20 “Use Standards”, Ch. 17.24 “Off-Street Parking, Loading and Access”, Ch. 17.30 “Definitions” regarding regulation of short-term rental units.

All persons who want to attend the public hearing to observe, ask questions, or offer testimony are welcome to do so. Anyone wishing to be heard for or against the proposed amendment may submit statements orally or in writing or both. A copy of the petition requesting said amendment is on file and is available for inspection during normal business hours at the City of St. Charles Planning Division, 2 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois and at the St. Charles Public Library, Adult Reference Desk, 1 South 6th Avenue, St. Charles, Illinois.
