CITY OF ST. CHARLES: Police Launch Law Enforcement Club for High Schoolers

Policemen

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.

Focus on Careers in Law Enforcement

The St. Charles Police Department has launched a new Law Enforcement Club for St. Charles Community Unity School District 303 high school students interested in law enforcement careers.

The student-led club is open to any St. Charles high school student interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career, or with a general interest in police work. The club offers hands-on opportunities to learn, discuss current events, and network with guest speakers who work in the law enforcement field. Giving back and volunteering in the community also is a central theme of the club.

“We are reaching out to high school students who are interested in a career in law enforcement,” said St. Charles North High School Resource Officer Bill Tynan. “There are many professional avenues within the field and we want to give students the opportunity to explore the variety of occupations available. We see the participating officers and guest speakers in the program as mentors for students in the club.”
