City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
Due to the severe winter storm, we recommend avoiding travel as much as possible today. The roads are icy & hazardous + the winds are causing downed power lines. If you experience an outage, report it at http://ComEd.com/Report, and check outage status at http://ComEd.com/Map.
