City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
Good day, residents. Snow crews were busy yesterday preparing our full fleet for a big snow event coming our way this afternoon. Current forecasts are calling for snow to begin around 2:00 p.m. today. Up to nine inches of snow accumulation are expected by noon tomorrow (Monday). That's a lot of snow in under 24 hours. If you need to drive, take extra caution.
***Please remove all vehicles from the streets to allow our plows service the streets during this event. Snow route parking restrictions will be enforced.***
