Democratic House candidate Karina Villa’s history lays bare her position on property taxes, according to a new Liberty Principles PAC video posted to YouTube.
“How do you know Karina Villa will raise your taxes, because she told you,” a voice blares in the video. “Villa opposes a property tax freeze and she showed you as a school board member when she voted to raise property taxes and increase the school district budget by 45 percent.”
The ad notes Villa’s stony silence on the current burning issue of a property tax increase proposal that would raise taxes by another $2,000 annually for District 49 residents.
Tonia Khouri
“She’s told you; she’s showed you and now she’s dodging you,” the narrator adds. “The only thing Villa hasn’t done is put the for sale sign in your yard herself. Send Karina Villa packing before she sends you packing.”
Taking on Republican Tonia Khouri in District 49, Villa has been dogged by reports of her close alliance with longtime House Speaker Mike Madigan (D-Chicago) who, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections, has given her campaign $307, 037.
District 49 includes all or part of Elgin, Bartlett, Wayne, St. Charles, West Chicago, Batavia, Naperville and Aurora.
