Jeanette Ward recently announced she is seeking re-election for the U-46 School Board next April.
Although she has helped create positive changes and progress since she was elected in 2015, there is still more Ward wants to do for the district.
She also notes she was involved in the release of many past closed session meeting minutes, which has helped to increase the transparency of the board. Ward has also said she has fought for the right of all duly elected board members in the state “access to closed session recordings.”
However, she stated in her announcement that there were more things she felt needed to be done, including better handling of budgets and tax levies, more diverse curriculum resources and new private space policies and practices to help all students feel safe. Ward also noted that pathways needed to be put in place that better prepares students for the future.
The consolidated elections will be held on April 2, 2019.
