City of Batavia issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
Residents interested in running for aldermen on the Batavia City Council in 2019 can download a guide to the process posted on the City’s website.
The guide provides election information on how to file for candidacy. It includes all required forms. The guide is available on the City’s website homepage at www.cityofbatavia.net.
Printed copies of the Guide can be picked up at City Hall during business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
One seat for Alderman in Wards 1 through 7, and an additional seat for Ward 4 to serve an unexpired two-year term are up for election in the City of Batavia on April 2, 2019.
The candidate guide provides information on how to file for candidacy and all required forms for filing. City Hall hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Petitions for the required signatures may be circulated no earlier than Tuesday, September 18, 2018. The City cannot advise potential candidates and information contained here or on the City's website does not constitute legal advice.
