Fox River Countryside FRD responds to 55 fires in 2017

Fox River Countryside Fire-Rescue District responded to 198 calls in 2017 - 13.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fox River Countryside included 55 fires - 21 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 28 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $679,150 in fire loss - or about $12,348 per fire.

The department also received 142 false calls, including six malicious calls and 136 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
