Pingree-Grove FPD responds to 64 fires in 2017

Pingree-Grove Fire Protection District responded to 194 calls in 2017 - 65.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Pingree-Grove included 64 fires - 34 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 27 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $57,205 in fire loss - or about $894 per fire.

The department also received 129 false calls, including one malicious call and 128 other false calls.
