Elburn & Countryside F.p.d. ST responds to 72 fires in 2017

Elburn & Countryside F.p.d. Station responded to 231 calls in 2017 - 21.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Elburn & Countryside F.p.d. included 72 fires - 43 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 25 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $883,475 in fire loss - or about $12,270 per fire.

The department also received 156 false calls, including six malicious calls and 150 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
