The calls in Batavia included 39 fires - 19 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 12 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $152,600 in fire loss - or about $3,913 per fire.
The department also received 253 false calls, including three malicious calls and 250 other false calls.
One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and one was injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Batavia Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 22 active employees and 15 retired or inactive employees, was $474,758 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $12,173 for every fire in 2016.
