Tonia Khouri, the Republican candidate in Illinois’ 11th Congressional District seat, recently mapped out her priorities, which are based on the principle that jobs equal opportunity for Illinois stakeholders.
In a posting on Facebook, Khori said, 62 percent of net new jobs are created by small businesses. "I've seen firsthand how these opportunities change lives and improve the quality of life for everyone," she wrote. "Small businesses are the backbone for robust economies here in our local communities. I look forward to going to Washington and standing up for employees and employers.”

Khouri, who built her home-services business with her husband from the ground up, said she has gained the perspective necessary to understand the obstacles that small businesses face and pledged support to entrepreneurs as a major pillar of her candidacy.
“I am a small-business owner,” Khouri said. “My husband and I started our home-services company 12 years ago with literally one man and one truck, and we now have over 22,000 customers in the Chicagoland area. I love to share this story because that is America. There is no other country on this planet that gives us more opportunity to succeed than this great nation.”
Citing tax-code simplification, sustainable employment and common-sense regulations as her top concerns, along with small-business revitalization, Khouri vowed to keep her word to her constituents as her campaign gains steam.
“I am going to Washington to make sure it stays that way - to make sure everyone has the opportunity to achieve their dreams,” Khouri said. “I’m running for Congress; I’m standing up and taking action, and I am asking you to join me.”
