The Ooh La La Chocolate half marathon, 10k, and 5k run is scheduled for Sunday, November 2 in downtown Geneva. In preparation for the event, parking will not be allowed on certain downtown streets after midnight on November 2. Full street closures will begin at 4 a.m.
The affected areas include Third Street from James to Franklin streets; Campbell Street from River Lane to Second Street and from Fifth to Sixth streets; Franklin Street from Second to Sixth streets; Second, Fifth, and Sixth streets from Campbell to Franklin streets; and River Lane from Campbell to South streets.
Route 31 (South First Street) will stay open during the event. However, traffic may be stopped at times at the Campbell Street intersection so runners can cross safely. Drivers will be directed around the race course using a detour that includes James, Seventh, Fulton, and Third streets.
Geneva Police officers will manage traffic control throughout the morning. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through downtown because of the expected large crowd attending or participating in the race. Organizers expect all closed streets to reopen by 11 a.m.
