• Earth Day Event
i. Every day is Earth Day!
• Eastside Fire Station Natural Landscaping Project
i. Dan Ludwig continues to monitor the plants.
• River Clean-up Day
i. The river cleanup was September 20th! Update and recap.
• Rain Barrels for sale
i. Barrels are $75 each.
• Greening Geneva Initiative
i. Work with Wasco to pick tree species and get a quote for a Fall 2025 planting.
• Wine, Cheese, and Trees
i. Get plenty of rest for 2026. Library has reserved rooms for Feb 28th.
ii. First planning meeting will be at Library on October 9th at 6:30 PM.
• Gunnar Anderson Stewardship
i. Workdays will pick back up in October 2025!
ii. Calendar of dates has been sent out and posted.
• Elm Park Restoration Work
i. Update from Kelvin.
• NRC Facebook page and Instagram
i. Updates from Mel and Rachel.
• Pumpkin Recycling
i. 3rd Annual event will be November 8th!
ii. Create flyer and post at various locations.
• NRC Lecture Series
i. The next lecture will be October 25th, 2 PM.
• SPAC and Community Engagement

• Dark Sky Initiative
i. NRC to continue to promote the Dark Sky Initiative.
• Tree Ordinance
i. NRC will follow up for additional meetings with City to review requested changes.
• Bird City Illinois
i. Members of the NRC met with SPAC to present the program and what next steps would be.
ii. Look at an event specifically for this application!
6. New Initiatives
• Create an education piece to reduce plastic and styrofoam at restaurants.
• Continue to support educational opportunity to move Spring leaf collection into May, not April.
