Construction activity continues this week along Wood Bridge Lane and Steeple Road in the Village of Campton Hills, with work focused on replacing curbs and preparing for upcoming milling operations.
According to updates provided by the village, Geneva Construction has been on site since September 15. On that day, crews removed curbs along both roads and began framing for new curb installation. The company scheduled concrete pouring for these curbs to begin the following morning at 7:00 a.m. During curb replacement at driveways, Geneva Construction is completing one half at a time so residents can maintain access to their homes.
On September 16, Geneva Construction poured concrete for most of the curb and gutter along Wood Bridge and Steeple. Crews also mobilized a milling machine on Evergreen in preparation for further work.
The schedule indicates that construction will be quieter while crews allow the concrete to set up along Wood Bridge and Steeple. The village is waiting to confirm from Geneva Construction whether remaining concrete work—including driveway halves and an ADA sidewalk at Carl Sandburg Road and Edna Ferber Cove—will be completed Thursday or Friday of this week.
Milling is tentatively planned to start this Friday, pending final scheduling details from contractors.
