The City of St. Charles has announced its 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project, which aims to improve 13.8 miles of roadways throughout the town. Most roads will undergo milling and resurfacing with minimal traffic disruption, but some streets will need temporary closures for full reconstruction.
These closures are subject to weather conditions, and actual start dates may vary. Updates and additional details are available on the project's page on the City website. The following roads will be closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles during construction:
- Williams Ave., from Midway Ave. to Ronzheimer Avenue, will close on Monday, July 14, 2025, for approximately five days.
- Lucylle Ave., from Jewel Ave. to Pleasant Ave. & from Pleasant Ave. to Moore Avenue, will close on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for about four days.
- N. 3rd Ave. & Johnor Ave., from N 5th Ave./IL Rte. 25 to Marion Avenue, will close on Monday, July 21, 2025, for around ten days.
Bicycle and pedestrian access to the Fox River Trail will remain open during construction.
