Herbicide spraying planned for downtown Batavia sidewalks on June 11

City of Batavia crews are set to apply herbicide spot treatments on sidewalks in parts of the downtown area. The operation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., contingent upon weather conditions.

The areas targeted for treatment include Wilson Street from Lincoln to Prairie streets, Batavia Avenue (Rt. 31) from Main to Houston streets, Houston Street from Batavia to Island avenues, Water Street from Main to Houston streets, and North River Street from Wilson to State streets. Additional sidewalks in the surrounding area may also be treated.

Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution while walking in these areas and consult the treatment map for specific locations. Information regarding the herbicide products being used and safety guidelines can be found at bataviail.gov/rowspray.
