Montgomery is preparing for the 40th Montgomery Fest, set to take place along the Fox River from August 15 to 17. With just 75 days remaining, this annual event promises a weekend of community activities and entertainment.

The fest has been a tradition since 1984 when Montgomery had about 3,000 residents. Today, the village's population exceeds 21,000. The event offers various activities aimed at fostering community spirit and family enjoyment.

Among the highlights are live performances by local and regional bands, including Sonora Dinamita on Friday, 52nd Street on Saturday, and Semple on Sunday evening. Windy City Amusements will provide carnival rides and games suitable for all ages.

Food vendors will offer a wide range of culinary options, while the Montgomery Foundation will host a beverage tent featuring beer and seltzer. The Historic Preservation Commission will organize its annual Car Show in Austin Park on Saturday.

Craft and market vendors will be present along River St., offering handmade products. Family Fest returns for its second year with interactive activities for children on Saturday morning.

Trivia enthusiasts can participate in a competition hosted by Go4ItEntertainment on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning, fishing fans can join the Carp Fishing Derby along the Fox River.

The parade is scheduled for Sunday afternoon through downtown Montgomery, culminating in a fireworks display that evening at 9 PM.

The Village of Montgomery invites everyone to partake in this milestone celebration. More information is available on their official website at montgomeryil.org/montgomeryfest.
